[Lower Canthoplasty] Does the Aegyo Sal Disappear After Lateral & Lower Canthoplasty? (Side Effects?)

2026-04-16

This is something I'm asked about a lot during lateral and lower canthoplasty consultations.

Will my aegyo sal disappear after lateral and lower canthoplasty? Is that okay?

Depending on the surgical method, it can disappear or become smaller.

When the surgery is done with the method I described earlier,

the aegyo sal does not disappear.

If anything, it can look even more prominent,

but it doesn't go away.

The aegyo sal is not affected by the lateral canthoplasty,

it is affected by the lower canthoplasty.

First, regarding the lower canthoplasty technique,

it would be good if you read the post below first,

but I've prepared photos so that you don't even need to.

Let's start with the first case.

Before / 3 months after

The area at the back of the eye has become larger,

but the shape of the aegyo sal

shows no particular change.

Before / 1 month after

The back area has become larger,

and the aegyo sal actually looks slightly more prominent.

Before / 3 months after

The back area has become larger,

and the aegyo sal also becomes slightly more visible.

Before / 1 month after

In this case too, the larger area is clearly visible,

and the aegyo sal looks a bit more prominent.

As you can see,

when lateral and lower canthoplasty is done the way I do it

and the eye opens up without any problem,

the aegyo sal becomes more visible.

Tissue gathers slightly toward the bottom,

creating a rounded, fuller effect.

With other surgical methods, the results may differ somewhat.

Next time, I'd like to write a post about

smiling eyes (the 'eye smile'),

but because that requires shooting video...

it isn't easy, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to post it :(

I'll find a way to gather the material and write it.
